THE BLEACHER, an 8-minute animated/drama/horror film, presents a surreal and introspective journey starring Kate Micucci, Ben Sinclair, and Sky Elobar. Written and Directed by the creative force of the duo Adam Wilder and Nicole Daddona, and produced by Zeus Pictures, this distinctive film springs to life through the animation of Barney Abrahams and is set to an evocative score by Josh Ascalon. Set in the eccentric world of a laundromat, the story revolves around Rita Riat, or 'The Bleacher,' whose obsessive quest for a missing sock leads her into the depths of a washing machine and into her subconscious. LOGLINE
A woman’s life is upended when the disappearance of her sock at the laundromat causes her to get sucked into a washing machine.
SYNOPSIS
The self-service laundromat, Frugal Wash attracts a colorful and often disgruntled clientele, including Rita Riat (aka The Bleacher), whose discovery of a missing sock sends her into a near nervous breakdown. Convinced it’s either the work of the misfits waiting for their laundry or the broken-down machinery, Rita begins her search. Diving deep into the washing machine for a closer look, Rita is sucked into its claustrophobic confines and into the depths of her subconscious. There, she meets a dolphin-man trapped in a purgatory of lost socks. The bizarre ballet of seduction and revelation blurs reality for the pair, peeling back layers of Rita’s mundane life and exposing the harrowing truth behind the blood-stained sock that must be found.

Adam Wilder and Nicole Daddona, the imaginative and visionary pair behind Magic Society Pictures, are renowned for their innovative approach to film and television. Merging iconic characters, well-crafted narratives, and a visual smorgasbord, their genre-bending work captivates audiences and transports them to otherworldly realms.
Their collaborations with networks like Amazon Studios, Adult Swim and MTV have led to significant festival acclaim, with their films premiering at SXSW, Fantasia Festival, and most recently, Sundance 2024.
